Wei Lee was a topman of Chinese origin on the Obra Dinn during her last voyage in 1802. He disappeared in The Doom, where he was pulled off the ship and drowned by the kraken.
Story
Wei Lee was one of four Chinese topmen and can often be seen close to his compatriots or their apparent mutual friend, seaman George Shirley, in a number of scenes. The player first encounters him in The Doom, part 8, after which he disappears. His chronological first appearance is in A Bitter Cold, part 1, where he is sleeping in his hammock like most of the crew.
The East India Company insurance assessment of the Obra Dinn incident finds extraordinary valor and exceptional performance of duties in Wei Lee's actions. His estate is awarded £45 in outstanding wages and reward.
Fate
He can be seen in the background of The Doom, part 8, being plucked off the ratlines by the giant squid. He dies crushed or drowned shortly afterwards, but his body cannot be seen.
Identification
In The Doom, part 2, Wei Lee can be seen having a drink with George Shirley. Wei Lee's (empty) numbered hammock can be seen behind him. Since at this point, he is the only surviving Chinese crew member, this allows for clear identification.
